A Few Things to Know
The guidelines and requirements we ask every pop-up to review before sending an inquiry.
← Back to Sa’yo ang BukasThe space is offered free of charge.
There is no rental fee for approved Sa’yo ang Bukas pop-ups. A $100 operations and cleaning fee applies to each pop-up. This helps cover opening and closing the space, on-site assistance, and waste handling after the event.
Available dates are limited.
Sa’yo ang Bukas is available only on designated weekdays when the café is normally closed. Available dates will be shared with approved applicants.
Submitting an inquiry does not guarantee a pop-up.
We review each idea carefully to make sure it is a good fit for the space, our neighborhood, and the spirit of Sa’yo ang Bukas.
Help us get to know your idea.
When reaching out, tell us a little about yourself, what you’d like to bring to Bukas, what your setup might look like, and anything you may need from the space. The more we understand your idea, the better we can determine whether Bukas can support it.
Bukas is a small and intimate space.
Please keep the size of the café in mind when planning your pop-up. We can accommodate a maximum of 16 people total at any given time, including your team, staff, collaborators, and guests. Concepts and setups should be planned with this capacity in mind.
Your pop-up is yours to bring to life.
Participants are responsible for their own products, inventory, staffing, setup, payment processing, packaging, signage, and day-of operations unless something else has been agreed upon with us in advance.
Food pop-ups may have additional requirements.
Participants are responsible for any permits, licenses, food-safety requirements, insurance, or other documentation that may apply to their particular pop-up.
Bukas is not equipped for heavy on-site cooking.
Our café is best suited for food that is prepared off-site and finished, assembled, plated, or lightly reheated at Bukas. Full-scale cooking or any setup that requires heavy cooking equipment may not be accommodated.
Please let us know in advance what equipment or food preparation you plan to do on-site so we can make sure the space is suitable.
Please take care of the space.
Any setup or changes to the café must be discussed and approved beforehand. Permanent modifications such as drilling, painting, attaching fixtures to the walls, or moving major equipment are not permitted.
Cleaning is part of your pop-up.
The majority of cleaning must be handled by the participant and their team. This includes cleaning your work and service areas, removing your materials and belongings, properly disposing of trash, and returning the café as closely as possible to the condition in which you received it.
Keep our neighborhood in mind.
Bukas is a small neighborhood café, so we ask that each concept be thoughtful about noise, foot traffic, and our surrounding community.
Promotion is the responsibility of the participant.
Bukas may choose to share or support your pop-up through our platforms, but the planning and promotion of the event remains the responsibility of the participating person or business.
Please honor your confirmed date.
If you need to cancel, we ask that you let us know at least one week before your scheduled pop-up. Because we reserve the entire day for you, advance notice gives us the opportunity to offer the date to someone else.
Ready when you are.
